Break Out the China

On Monday night, we celebrated with our first “big” dinner party.

What were we celebrating?  Solomon’s parents had their 40th anniversary!

M & D This was only the second time we’ve used our fine china since we got married-almost 4 years ago!

I forgot how much I love our china until we got a chance to use it.

So pretty!

Picture 267 Picture 268On the menu was:

  • Whole Wheat Egg Bread
  • Homemade French Bread
  • Nutty Coleslaw
  • Cranberry Couscous salad (recipe coming soon Joshua.  Don’t worry!)
  • Tomato Brisket
  • Chile-Citrus Marinated Chicken
  • Grilled Sweet Potatoes
  • Lemon Broiled Green Beans
  • Garlic Asparagus
  • Roasted Vegetables
  • Cupcake Anniversary Cake
  • Vodka Grapefruit Sorbet
  • Pecan Pie
  • Fruit

For our first big dinner party, I’d say it was quite successful.  I think we’re going to use our china a whole lot more, just because.  It will be a way to make any old dinner extra special!  I’ll be sharing more recipes and pictures soon!  Now I’m going to eat some leftovers 🙂

Do you have fine china?  Do you use it?  Do you use it only for special occasions or do you make an occasion more special by breaking out the china?
